Yes. The SAT is offered in Turkey on every international SAT Weekend date. When we checked College Board's test center search in October 2026, it listed around 100 centres in Turkey for each upcoming date, about a third of them in Istanbul and the rest spread from Ankara and Izmir to cities across the country. You register online through College Board, choose your date and centre during registration, and sit the digital test in College Board's Bluebook app on a laptop or tablet you bring yourself.
Centres, dates and fees all change, so this guide states what College Board published as of October 2026 and links to the official pages. Check them before you register.
Where you can sit the SAT in Turkey
College Board's SAT test center search lists every place hosting the SAT on a given date. You search by test date and country; College Board's country list spells it "Turkiye". Each centre in the results shows its address, its test centre code and whether seats are still available.
In October 2026 the search returned between 95 and 107 centres in Turkey for each of the five remaining dates of the 2026–27 year. Roughly a third were in Istanbul, followed by Ankara and Izmir, with others in cities including Antalya, Bursa, Kayseri, Adana, Gaziantep, Mersin and Erzurum. Most are private high schools; a few are universities.
Three practical points follow from how the search works:
- The list changes from date to date. Many centres appear on several dates, but the list differs from one date to the next. If you live outside the largest cities, check which dates a centre near you is running before you settle on a date.
- Seats run out. A centre can still appear in the results with no seats left. You choose a specific centre when you register, so register early for a popular centre.
- Closures are announced separately. College Board's test center closings page shows centres that are fully closed on a test date. It is updated every three hours, and College Board advises checking it the evening before and on the morning of your test.
SAT dates and deadlines for 2026–27
Students in Turkey follow the same SAT Weekend calendar as everyone else: College Board states that its dates and deadlines apply to all students, in the United States and abroad. As of October 2026, the remaining dates for the 2026–27 testing year are:
| SAT test date | Registration deadline | Deadline for changes, regular cancellation and late registration |
|---|---|---|
| 7 November 2026 | 23 October 2026 | 27 October 2026 |
| 5 December 2026 | 20 November 2026 | 24 November 2026 |
| 6 March 2027 | 19 February 2027 | 23 February 2027 |
| 1 May 2027 | 16 April 2027 | 20 April 2027 |
| 5 June 2027 | 21 May 2027 | 25 May 2027 |
Every deadline expires at 11:59 p.m. US Eastern Time, which falls early the following morning in Turkey. Late registration is available worldwide, for an extra fee, until the later of the two deadlines. If you need to borrow a device from College Board, you must register and request it at least 30 days before test day, which is earlier than the regular registration deadline. Sunday testing exists only for students who cannot test on a Saturday for religious reasons, and has to be requested.
College Board's dates and deadlines page also lists anticipated dates for 2027–28: 28 August, 18 September, 9 October, 6 November and 4 December 2027, then 4 March, 6 May and 3 June 2028. They are anticipated rather than confirmed, and the October 2027 date is already marked as updated, so check the page again before building a plan around any of them.
How to register from Turkey
Registration happens entirely online, through your College Board account:
- Create or sign in to your College Board student account. Enter your full legal name exactly as it appears on the photo ID you will bring on test day. College Board asks for name changes at least 30 days before the test.
- Have a photo and a payment method ready. The photo you upload must clearly match your appearance on test day and the photo on your ID.
- Choose your test date and centre. Use the test center search beforehand, so you know which centres near you have seats on that date.
- Answer the device question. If you have no suitable laptop or tablet, select the option saying you do not know whether you have access to the necessary device; this is what lets you request a loan from College Board afterwards.
- Pay the fee. It is charged when you register; the next section explains how it is made up.
If you need testing accommodations, start earlier still. Trying an accommodation in a Bluebook practice test does not mean it has been approved: College Board asks for the request to be submitted through its SSD Online system, usually by your school's coordinator, at least seven weeks before test day.
After registering, two dates matter. At least 30 days before the test, download Bluebook on your testing device and take a practice test in it. Five days before, complete exam setup in the app, which is when you get your admission ticket.
What the SAT costs in Turkey
There is no separate price for Turkey. College Board charges everyone who tests outside the United States the standard registration fee plus an international fee, and the additional fees are the same everywhere: late registration, changing your test centre, cancelling by the change deadline, and cancelling later than that. College Board's list of centres known to charge an extra test centre fee, for August 2026 to June 2027, includes none in Turkey, though it still advises contacting your centre for the latest information. The current amounts are on College Board's international fees page; we do not repeat them here because they change.
Two rules are worth knowing before you pay:
- Score reports: your first four score reports to colleges are free if you order them within nine days of the test date. Later or additional reports cost extra.
- Changing your plans: you can change your test centre for a fee, but not your test date. To move to another date, you cancel and register for a new test, and the cancellation fees apply.
Your device and the Bluebook app
The SAT is digital, and for a weekend test you bring the device yourself. It can be a Windows or Mac laptop, an iPad, or a Chromebook managed by your school; personal Chromebooks are not permitted. The device must be fully charged and able to stay on for three to four hours, and College Board recommends bringing a power cord or portable charger, since you may not have access to an outlet.
Also bring a pencil or pen; scratch paper is provided. A graphing calculator is built into the app, but you may bring an acceptable calculator of your own. An external mouse is allowed, and an external keyboard only with a tablet.
ID and arriving on test day
You need your admission ticket and an acceptable photo ID. College Board's ID checklist requires an ID that is:
- valid, original and physical (no photocopies, no digital IDs), and either government-issued or issued by the school you currently attend;
- in your full legal name, exactly as it appears on your admission ticket;
- carrying a recent, recognisable photo that matches both your appearance and the photo you registered with;
- in good condition, with clearly legible English-language text.
If you will be 21 or older on test day, only a government-issued photo ID is accepted. If you travel to Turkey from another country to take the test, the ID must be a valid passport. If you are not sure that another document meets every point on College Board's list, a valid passport removes the doubt.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your test begins for check-in, or 30 minutes before the standard check-in time if you are collecting a borrowed device. In the room you connect to the centre's Wi-Fi, sign in to Bluebook and enter the start code the proctor gives you.
Choosing a date that fits your applications
Work back from your earliest application deadline. Scores do not arrive the same day: for the 7 November 2026 test, for example, College Board lists the score release as 20 November 2026. A sensible plan leaves room for a second sitting before your first deadline, so that one weak morning does not decide your application.
Preparing for test day
The test itself lasts 2 hours 14 minutes: Reading and Writing in two 32-minute modules, a 10-minute break, then Math in two 35-minute modules. In each section the second module is harder or easier depending on how you did in the first, which is why pacing at the start of a module matters on this test.
Whatever else you do, take at least one full-length practice test in Bluebook on the device you will bring, so the interface holds no surprises. For the preparation around it:
- Our live online SAT course runs on a published timetable in Turkey time (UTC+3), with group classes capped at six students, or as one-to-one lessons.
- The full-length SAT practice tests run on the real section timing with adaptive second modules; there is a free diagnostic test, and each test can be taken twice.
- The SAT question bank lets you filter by section and difficulty and work one weak area at a time; 30 questions are free once you have an account.
