Since August 2024, the LSAT has two scored Logical Reasoning sections and one scored Reading Comprehension section, plus an unscored section. Logic Games is no longer tested. Our preparation focuses on argument analysis, close reading and timed practice in that format.

What the LSAT actually looks like
The structure, the timing and the scoring, stated plainly — before anything about a course.

Logical Reasoning — two scored sections
Logical Reasoning accounts for two of the three scored sections. Learn to identify assumptions, flaws and the effect of new information on an argument, then practise applying that reasoning under time pressure.
Reading Comprehension — one scored section
Dense passages including a comparative set of two shorter texts read against each other. Argument structure matters more than subject matter, which is what makes it continuous with Logical Reasoning rather than separate from it.
An unscored variable section
One section does not count and you are not told which. It has to be answered as though it does, which is a stamina consideration as much as a strategic one.
LSAT Argumentative Writing
Completed separately from the multiple-choice sections rather than on the same day. Unscored, and sent to the schools you apply to.
- Analytical Reasoning — Logic Games — was removed in August 2024 and replaced by a second scored Logical Reasoning section. Material written before that date is preparing you for a paper that no longer exists.
- From August 2026 most candidates take the multiple-choice portion at a test centre rather than remotely; confirm the current arrangement when you book.
- The scale still runs 120 to 180, and a few points near the top move which schools are realistic — which is why marginal gains are worth more here than on most tests.

Why it matters
What a LSAT score is for
The LSAT is the test American and Canadian law schools weigh most heavily, and it is unusually predictive of the first year of the degree — which is why admissions offices trust it and why a few points move outcomes so much. It is also the most learnable major admissions test: the question types are a closed set, they repeat, and a candidate who can name what a question is asking is most of the way to answering it.

Studying for Logic Games
Analytical Reasoning was removed in August 2024. It is still the section most older books devote the most pages to, and every hour spent on it is an hour not spent on the two Logical Reasoning sections that replaced it.
Not knowing which question type you are on
Logical Reasoning is a closed set of question types, each with its own approach. Reading the stimulus before the question means starting without knowing what you are looking for, which is slower and less accurate.
Reading Comprehension for content
The passages are about geology, jurisprudence, art history. None of that is examined. What is examined is the structure of the argument and the author's attitude, which a content reader has to reconstruct afterwards.
Answering every question
Nothing is deducted for guessing wrong, which makes an empty box strictly worse than a filled one. Running out of time and abandoning the final five questions gives away marks that were free to take.
Practising untimed for too long
Untimed accuracy on the LSAT is a poor predictor of a timed score, and the gap is usually larger than people expect. Discovering it a month out compresses the fix into the worst possible window.
Skipping the writing sample
It is unscored, completed separately, and sent to every school. Treating it as an afterthought produces the one piece of unedited writing in the file, written carelessly.

How the teaching works
A diagnostic before one-to-one lessons are planned
One-to-one lessons start by finding out where the marks are actually going. That is not a formality: on most of these tests the gap a student describes and the gap the diagnostic shows are different, and hours spent on the described one are hours wasted.
Teaching in the order your deadline allows
One-to-one lessons follow your order, not a syllabus's. We start with whatever is costing you most and work outwards rather than marching through material you have already half covered.
Timed work from early, not saved for the end
Untimed accuracy is a poor predictor of a timed score, and finding that out three weeks before the test is too late. Timed sections start in the first fortnight, short at first.
Review and progress checks
Review looks beyond the mark: which errors recur, whether the reasoning is clearer and how accuracy holds under time pressure. Bring earlier attempts to the discussion so the next practice has a specific purpose.
All of it runs in the browser, live, with a teacher on the other end. There are no recordings sold as a course and no premises to travel to.
Timeline
How long LSAT preparation takes
A rough shape rather than a promise. People arrive at different starting points and the plan is built around yours, but this is what a full run usually looks like.

Four to six months out — diagnostic
A full timed test in the current format. It sets the baseline and, on this test specifically, shows the gap between untimed and timed accuracy — which is the number the plan is built around.

Months 1–3 — question types, named and drilled
Logical Reasoning by type rather than by volume, until recognising the type is instant. Reading Comprehension worked for structure, including the comparative passage set.

Months 3–5 — timed sections and full tests
Complete timed tests at increasing frequency, each reviewed question by question. The review is where the score moves; the test only measures it.

Final month — pacing, stamina, writing
Full-length sittings including a section you must treat as scored without knowing whether it is, plus the writing sample completed properly rather than at the last minute.

LSAT questions we get asked
- Is Logic Games really gone?
- Yes. Since August 2024, the scored multiple-choice test has two Logical Reasoning sections and one Reading Comprehension section. Choose practice materials that reflect that structure.
- How much can a score improve?
- We will not give you a number. What we will tell you after a diagnostic is the gap between your untimed and timed accuracy, which on this test is usually where the available improvement actually is.
- Should I guess?
- Always. Nothing is deducted for a wrong choice, so an empty box can only cost you and can never save you. With a minute left, fill every remaining answer before the section closes.
- Is the test still taken remotely?
- From August 2026 most candidates take the multiple-choice portion at a test centre. Confirm the current arrangement when you book, since it affects how you should rehearse.
- Does the writing sample matter?
- It is unscored and sent to every school you apply to. For most files it is the only unedited writing an admissions committee sees, which makes 'unscored' a poor reason to ignore it.
- How long should I prepare?
- Four to six months is the usual shape. The LSAT rewards sustained practice more than intensity, because the gains come from recognising question types instantly, and that is built rather than crammed.
- Is there a group option?
