Full-length practice tests
A practice test is only worth sitting if it behaves like the real one. These run the actual section timing, the on-screen tools the test gives you, and — where the real exam adapts — the same adaptive logic. A score from a paper printout tells you much less than you think.

Real timing
Sections are timed as the exam times them, and the clock does not stop because you left the tab. That is the part that makes a practice score comparable to a real one.
Real adaptive behaviour
The SAT chooses your second module from how you did on the first, and the GMAT and GRE adapt in their own ways. A simulator that ignores that cannot tell you what an early rush costs you.
Drilling one topic at a time is a different job, and the question bank is where that happens. Most people need both: the bank to find the gaps, a full-length test to find out whether they close under time pressure.
