IB Mathematics, AA and AI, SL and HL

Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation are different subjects that share a name, and students sometimes discover halfway through the first year that they are on the wrong one. Lessons start by checking the course matches where you are heading, then work through the syllabus your school is teaching, with the Exploration treated as a piece of writing rather than an afterthought.

What the lessons cover

  • Number and algebra, functions, and the graphing the papers expect
  • Geometry and trigonometry, including the HL extensions
  • Statistics and probability — the heart of Applications and Interpretation
  • Calculus, at SL depth or the full HL treatment
  • The Exploration: choosing a topic, and the criteria it is actually marked against

How the lessons are scheduled

Subject lessons run 90 minutes; Internal Assessment supervision runs 60. A prepaid package of ten or twenty is not locked to this subject — if your Chemistry settles and Mathematics starts slipping, the remaining lessons follow you there.
